How to Become A Community Partner

On Becoming a Community Partner

Community organizations that partner with Toronto Dollar Inc can most readily benefit by purchasing Toronto Dollars directly from the treasurer. Unlike individual participants who exchange Canadian dollars for Toronto Dollars at par, a community partner is able to receive the 10 ten percent from the Toronto Dollars purchased, thereby obtaining a grant immediately. For example, an organization would recieve one thousand and one hundred, ($1,100.00) Toronto Dollars for 0ne thousand Canadian dollars ($1.000.00). translating to a mini-grant of $100.00.

Toronto Dollars is an incentive for low income people on welfare since benefits are not clawed back for work that is done in exchange for Toronto Dollars. Additional benefits for participating community partners are:

free advertisement on the Outdoor Board Network sign at Richmond and Yonge
linkage to and information on this website
participation in the Toronto Dollar community of supporting merchants
participation in the annual Toronto Dollar party at the St. Lawrence Market.

There are many ways to build and strengthen communities. One Toronto Dollar initiative is the Toronto Dollar Supper Club, pioneered successfully at the Hot House Café. Should any community partner choose to sponsor a supper club in a Toronto Dollar restaurant, the ten percent raised for the evening could be applied to that organization.
