Original Bill Samples

The Toronto Dollar currency is printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company, which also prints federal currency.

Toronto dollars are printed on special paper and include security measures against counterfeit printing.

The currency also has a printed expiry date which was two years away from the date the currency was printed. This expiry date became a problem after it expired. Toronto Dollar has not reprinted the bills yet and so continue to use the currency even though it has "expired" according to the bills.
In 2005 Toronto dollar will be reprinting it's bills without an expiry date.
