Security Features of the New Bills


Toronto dollars are printed on special paper and include security measures against counterfeit printing.

The OLD currency has a printed expiry date which was two years away from the date the currency was printed. This expiry date became a problem after it expired. Toronto Dollar has not reprinted the bills yet and so continue to use the currency until December 31/2005, at which time they will be exchanged for the new bills

Security Features of the NEW Toronto Dollars

Look for a number inside the circles.
The one dollar bills will have the number 1 hidden in the paper on both sides..
The five dollar bills have hidden 5's in them

Use the reflection of light to see them, and cover the back of the bill with your hand,
when you look for the numbers, so the light won't make them difficult to see.
